
On 14th December, 2023 Reproductive Maternal Newborn and Child Adolescence Health (RMNCAH) held an exchange learning program meeting with other Civil Society Organizations (CSO’s) drawn from different sub counties in Bungoma County. The event was attended by 27 members that saw different Organizations share the insights, thematic areas, the challenges and the milestones achieved during the advocacy journey. During the meeting RMNCAH Network’s advocacy officer Moses Ouma shared the milestones made and the challenges encountered in the advocacy journey for RMNCAH Network. The milestones includes; the decision by county health department to allocate KES16 million in the Financial year 2023/24 (County Health Sector Annual Work Plan, FY 2023/24) towards completion and equipping of blood donor center at Bungoma County Referral Hospital (BCRH), allocation of 60 million towards improving health information between health facilities and community (UHC), commitment by the Bungoma governor of KES 200million allocation towards Primary Health Care (PHC) and launch of Lusaka care, taking part in the MPDSR meetings among others.
The Organizations that took part in an Exchange program included; Elgon Centre for Education, Rural Empowerment Development Organization (REDO), Jitahidi Community Based Organization (CBO), Selukha CBO, Kuza Upeo Africa, Al- Siraati Youth Group, Mukhe Mwangaza women group and Morning Star Women Group. Moses Ouma, advocacy officer for RMNCAH Network, took other organizations through the Network’s profile and encouraged them to emulate the same for the growth of their CBO’s.
